Little Things In Life

Yes, I’m one of those cheesy wives.

I plan everything, want everyone to be happy, and I’m always down for making homemade gifts. I enjoy keeping my house clean and organized, and I enjoy surprising my husband.

I also enjoy leaving my mark.

In other words, showcasing my marriage is enjoyable to me. With hubby getting his new position with a new company, he noted he didn’t have a picture of us in his office. The next day, I made my way to Home Goods (I shop there too much) to purchase a picture frame, some thank you notes, and a new journal (the journal had nothing to do with his goodie bag. I just wanted this journal). Later that day, I surprised him with a little goodie bag, filled with a picture of us at our wedding, a thank you card telling him how much I loved and appreciated him, and some extras :-).

Marriage is a blessing, but with any blessing, you have to put in work to keep it up. Doing these things keeps my marriage fun, youthful, and happy. No one wants to wake up to a life filled with negativity and boredom. Also, when I do these things, he returns the favor and keeps me happy.

It’s a win for the both of us.

In a marriage, you don’t have to always do something big and major for your spouse. Little positive reminders can make a big difference; for, they’re thoughtful. Also,  life can be chaotic and stressful, so why not represent that place of peace for each other? You never know when your spouse needs that extra boost in love and confidence.

One of my favorite things to do is write little notes and hide them around the house for my husband to find. I agree — you’ve got to keep things fun in a marriage!
